Christian Stewardship is a life-style which
acknowledges accountability and responsibility
before God. Becoming a Steward begins
when we say we believe in God, to
who m we give our love, loyalty and trust.
We affirm that every aspect of our lives
comes as a gift from Him. Stewards are
motivated as recipients of God's abundant
love, to respond by participating and supporting
His plan of alvation and the ministries
of the Church, which make salvation
possible for them and for others.
In the Bible, the Steward is depicted as a
person who is given the responsibility of
managing something that belongs to the
Owner, God. The Steward as the manager
is thus accountable to the Owner for all
that he possesses and is responsible to
return to the Lord his or her fair share in
gratitude and Thanksgiving. As God has
been generous to us, He expects us to be
generous toward the work of Christ and His
Church. Our Stewardship Commitment is
the tool of ministry, salvation and healing
for us and for others. Christian Stewardship
is the privilege and honor of directly
supporting God's work on earth through
the Church.
A flourishing parish Christian Stewardship
Program can be compared to a river, which
overflows into many tributaries and
reaches out in many directions to share
with others our rich and profound spiritual
inheritance. Success on the local level
emanates to greater support and outreach
on all levels of ministry: local, national and
international. Christian Stewardship offers
each person the means to become an active
proponent in disseminating the Greek
Orthodox Faith through fair and generous
giving to support the Parish, and Archdiocesan
or National Ministries.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE IN GOOD STANDING?
To be in good standing means you must be paid in full up to the current
month based on your “Stewardship Commitment.” For example to be in
good standing for 2009 you must be paid in full for the entire year 2009 in
the amount of $400. Or paid in full January through June in the amount of
$200.04 and be on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually payment

HOW DO I BECOME A PARTICIPATING STEWARD?
After reading this page, you are asked to consider prayerfully and sincerely
your commitments. Let us keep in mind that our commitment obligation
begins January 1st of each year.

To be in good standing means you must be paid in full up to the current
month. For example to be in good standing for 2009 you must paid in full
January through June in the amount of $200.04. And be on a weekly,

IMPORTANT: Participation in all Church activities (ex: Greek School,
GOYA, Hope & Joy, Sunday School, etc.) you MUST be in good
standing before the start of each program.
HOW SHALL I PAY MY FINANCIAL COMMITMENT TO THE CHURCH?
Your commitment may be paid weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually,
or annually. Weekly or monthly offerings are suggested because it is easier
to manage small, regular contributions, rather than large accumulated
amounts. See Stewardship Commitment Card here!
AM I EXPECTED TO INCREASE MY STEWARDSHIP COMMITMENT?
The answer is yes. In making a decision, one should keep in mind that the
expenses of the church are constantly increasing. It simply costs more to
operate the Total Church. Therefore, consider what your increase should
be.
WHAT IF AFTER I MAKE A COMMITMENT, I ENCOUNTER HARDSHIP?
Our commitment is in the strictest of confidence, and is not a legal obligation,
but more importantly a promise to God. Should it become necessary, a
parishioner, by contacting the church office or the priest, may adjust his or
her commitment until circumstances allow him or her to continue his or her
original promise.
WHAT AM I EXPECTED TO OFFER?
Just as St. Paul speaks to the Christians in Corinth in the 1st century, he
speaks to us in the 21st century, and encourages us to set an honest and
fair portion of our income for the ministries and support of the church. Ask
yourself, is your church worth $2, $3, or $4 more per day? Currently it
only takes $1.10 a day to be in Good Standing; that’s less than a cup
of coffee or a bottle of water!
